Clearly, this needs a more fancy sounding title.

How about something like "The Official Thread of the 79th NFL Draft"

:)

The Falcons will hopefully Draft Matthews or Mack in the 1st round and Dee Ford or Xavier Su'a-Filo in the 2nd and maybe Tiny Richardson in later rounds

Goodell on Good Morning America the day the draft starts. Makes sense, considering parent company, though.

Passing on Matthews would be a mistake for Atlanta. They need to keep Ryan protected.

My ideal situation would be the Falcons draft

1st Matthews
2nd Dee Ford
3rd Su'a-Filo(hopefully)
4th Tiny Richardson

Hope everyone enjoys the next 12 hours of all thing Johnny. Should be interesting to see where he actually ends up. Wont be shocked to see his 2 teammates taken all in the top 10 along with him.

I kinda think Jake gets picked up by the Rams actually.

I hope Johnny enjoys Cleveland! At least Johnny Football is very mobile he'll need that when he's running for his life with the Browns sucky offensive line.

For the most part their line is actually quite good. You have Joe Thomas protecting the left side and they have a very good center in Mack.

Safe to say they're not trading down:

Texans seeking three first-round picks in trade for No. 1 - NFL.com

The Houston Texans' asking price for the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft, for at least two inquiring clubs, is three first-round picks at a minimum, according to NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport

With former South Carolina star Jadeveon Clowney the object of desire, Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith is seeking premium value for the pass rusher. Rapoport reports a swap of first-round picks Thursday night, plus two future first-rounders, is the demand.

The Texans aren't sold on Clowney as the No. 1 pick. "He doesn't appear to be a fit for their defense," Rapoport said Wednesday on Total Access, adding that effort issues aren't a concern for the team.

So who would buy?

It's an especially steep price tag for a team like the Atlanta Falcons, who are among the clubs most interested in Clowney. They would only be moving five spots ahead from the No. 6 position. In 2011, Atlanta spent two first-rounders, a second and two fourths to move up 21 spots to No. 6 in a stunning first-day trade with the Cleveland Browns to draft wide receiver Julio Jones.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported via Twitter that the Texans would also like to acquire second- and third-round picks this year in such a deal, but with just one future first-round pick (2015). That asking price could be better-aligned with a club seeking to move ahead from a higher position, such as Atlanta.

Meanwhile, Clowney is soaking up draft week in the Big Apple and letting the executives worry about trades. Wednesday night, he made an appearance on The Tonight Show and got to clock host Jimmy Fallon in the 40-yard dash.

Running in a suit and dress shoes, Fallon didn't benefit from optimum conditions. But he's not worth trading up for, either.

Would you take a chance on AJ McCarron or Tajh Boyd as a middle or late pick? I think the Bears will draft McCarron in the 2nd or 3rd because Jay Cutler will be a free agent soon and will ask for too much money

McCarron will be a serviceable back-up for some team I'd imagine. With regards to Boyd, I wouldn't touch him at all. I'd rank my QB big board something like this;

1. Teddy Bridgewater
2. Blake Bortles
3. Derek Carr
4. Johnny Manziel (I think he busts hard)
5. Derek Carr
6. Zach Mettenberger
7. Tom Savage
8. Jimmy Garoppolo
9. A.J. McCarron
10. Aaron Murray
11. David Fales

I like what I've seen of Garoppolo. Who ever gets him probably has a diamond in the rough. He's got a rocket for an arm!

I think that any team that needs a QB and passes on Manziel winds up regretting that decision. JMO. It's a new NFL and his size won't be a hinderance.

His size doesn't really bother me. His sandlot type playing style does.
