TOS posters saying defection rumors legit

@patrickbrownTFP: I just spoke with the father of #Vols guard Robert Hubbs, his son has not requested a release from Tennessee.

Well if only 1 of the 3 stays I think Hubbs has the most upside------just trying to find a bright side.

@Ben_Fred: #Vols guard Robert Hubbs says he has not requested a release as some have reported. Says he is still weighing his options as of right now.

Can likely thank shoulder surgery if he is back

Why would shoulder surgery keep him at UT? I can't quite connect those dots.

So what I'm saying makes sense, you just don't like that I'm saying it? Makes sense. Sometimes you reap what you sow, and it appears, for better or worse, U.T. is reaping the results from last season. It will be interesting to see if bottoming out helps recruiting. DT is going to have a big job on his hands, and I don't think he can do it just through JuCo at this level. I guess we will have to sit back on find out.

he is not doing it through juco.....he is signing the best possible players at this point available....i fell he is creating roster turnover as fast as possible like at his stops.

I agree completely Gee. That's why I'm not worried about JRich taking off..

....as I knock on wood.

LOL. I think we are ok with JRich as long as he hasn't graduated. With him being a senior, he just needs to play it out.

He should come back if the shoulder is 100%. If the shoulder is not 100%, sitting out a year wouldn't be that big of a thing. So I could see it either way.

No I don't agree. CCM had the toughness to beat cancer but he didn't have the toughness to "beat" some vocal rednecks. No one ran him off except himself. 15k fans showed up almost every game, more than he ever saw at Purdue or will see at Cal. When you underachieve and "disappoint" your customers expect to hear from them. They'll throw you to the wolves when you lose and crown you King when you win. That's the nature of sports and any fanbase who cares.

Tyndall's best recruiting contacts are in the JuCo ranks. His S. Miss and Morehead teams had a bunch of JuCo's. It will be interesting to see if he can make that work at U.T.

On point IMO.

Do you feel like the players from last years Sweet 16 season, both graduating and returning, felt appreciated by the U.T. fans. Based on transfers and comments from players leaving, I would say no. Like I said, for better or worse, this is going to end up being a JuCo rebuild. I'll be interested to sit back and see what happens. It should be interesting. Could be real good, could be real bad, but it certainly won't be boring.

Isn't this exciting, New Coach, New Staff, New Players, New Offense, New Defense, New Style. The reset button has been hit. You can analyze why the ones left, requested a release, or did not sign. Fans asked/demanded change and they got it.

Now comes the Major task of Letting Go and looking at the future. Nobody can state how many games we will win or lose next year at this time or for a while.

If you want to go and remain in the past and dwell on the past then you will not enjoy what is happening with this team.

IOW, you cannot drive forward if you focus only on the rear view mirrors. It's call the path of "Paralysis of Analysis"

BGV is putting in work today. Good post! :good!:

he has recruited the south with LSU and most of his offers after this first cycle has been to top 100 high school recruits....a coach recruits differently based on where they are coaching.

I can see solid replacements for all these players leaving except point guard. That is the position that is scary right now.

College basketball has changed so much over the past 10 years. So many talented juco and grad transfers. These players are more physically mature than most freshmen. The right coach can turn programs around quickly. What is yet to be seen, Is CDT the right coach?

I just didn't agree with the manner in which it was done. You can show your displeasure without creating a petition to bring back a former coach. That is a greater insult than anything else. It's ok to say that you aren't good at your job, but then also to demand the rehiring of the coach who was fired before you? That's a bit much for me.

I am ultra competitive and loved Bruce, but that was just crazy. It is what it is, and we all need to jump on the Donnie train.

Those connections are awfully dusty. Hope they still work. He's going to have to fill this class with JuCo's to compete, and work on the high school kids down the road. It's tough to recruit high school kids when you aren't winning. That's just the nature of the game. Winning leads to winning and losing leads to losing.

I agree with this. I am fine with Juco's to fill a roster now or every so often but not every year to run a program. There are reasons why they went the Juco route. You can (and almost have to) do it at smaller schools but not high level programs. I think all of his offers to 2015 high school players probably shows that he will build with high school players. JMO.

When you take a my way or the highway approach, don't be suprised when people choose the latter.

To my knowledge, very few if any were frustrated with the players, so they shouldn't have felt underappreciated or disrespected. Now how they felt is a different animal. Most fans thought they were being held back or not coached up by the staff. If they felt disrespected by the outstanding fan support at home, in the tourney and those waiting on them when they returned from Indy at 3am then be prepared to be disappointed a lot in life.

That's not true....if you can recruit then u can recruit....Bruce had a top ten class signed before we had barely played a game.

I think it's funny that the fans felt the coaching was holding them back, but the players did not feel that way. This is especially interesting considering a few of the players have parents with extensive basketball experience.
