TOS posters saying defection rumors legit

"Perhaps the NCAA's most pressing problem with the transfer rules is that coaches and schools have complete control over what a player can and cannot do, supporting the case that athletes are employees." SBNation

Being mentally, and sometimes physically, soft on the court has to do with attitude, scheme and gameplan more than it does bench press.

Never said otherwise, but I don't think he'll keep them from going elsewhere.

No I don't either. I thought you were implying that he may just cut em loose to go anywhere they please. I misunderstood you I guess.

Edit: I guess I got that idea because Ziti mentioned them having to pay their own way or go JUCO, and that would be true if Thompson wanted to go to Vandy, or Davis wanted to go to UGA, and Tyndall wouldn't release them to another SEC school.

So you're saying Tyndall won't release those guys if they don't wanna be here?

I think that's an NCAA rule.

It's why there is a "graduate transfer" stipulation. If graduating wasn't necessary, you'd see kids transfer all the time without penalty.

If they transfer, they'll have to sit out a year and will be able to petition for a waiver like Trae got which I don't think UT cared about him getting.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen you make any stupid comments about it.

You and everyone else are going to have to give up the Martin lover angle. I know it absolutely angered you that I supported Martin through thick and thin, but he's gone. I'm over it, all of Martin's most adamant supporters are over it, the only people bringing him up are those who unfairly blame him for everything (most things of which are out of his control).

Let's just cool it. People like you are so stuck on the fact that I was willing to support our coach that you are making yourself unwilling to try to understand anything I say.

Obviously, you haven't read HBCbutch .....he is cheering for us to lose bc of Zo lol

Probably just me, but I didn't think we were any of those things.

The team the last 3 years was as mentally weak as they could be. Multiple players were benched for mentally checking out. There was no killer instinct or refusal to lose, until the last 10 games.
The point is that work in the weight room isn't the same as playing with aggression and strength on the court. I don't care about a beach body.

Recruiting was under his control. You can keep supporting him all you want. It's laughable, but keep on

I may not have worded that right, I'm sure it would be your typical conditions. No school in SEC, no school on our schedule the next 2 years, and possibly no in-state schools.

What evidence do we have that our team was soft last year?

Physically we were much bigger and stronger than every other team we played.
Mentally, I mean just watch the Michigan game, nothing weak about nearly coming back from a 20 point 2nd half deficit, these guys are fighters.

This is just the typical VN BS nothing to see here, just move along

And exponentially more people were doing the same when Martin was here because they wanted to see him get fired.

Stupid is stupid, no matter which side you're on.

Players can transfer and be placed on scholarship while they redshirt. It's what Maymon did coming from Marquette, he didn't have to pay his own way for a year at Tennessee.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I edited my previous post to reflect where I got that impression.

If they wanted to push the issue about going to one of those restricted schools, they could by going JUCO for a year, or they would have to pay their own way for their transfer year.

Correct

Ok, guess that's right. But players must sit out a year at any school unless given a release with no restrictions? Or can the release limit the schools for which a player be placed on scholarship?
