I know u still love CCM and it kills u but I never said that.

Not sure what you're talking about?

This is about Tyndall, not Martin, why you living in the past? What's next, you gonna bring up Pearl?

If Tyndall misses the dance and doesn't have a top 20 class lined up his seat should be warm, agreed?

BTO I know u r trying to compare what people said about past coaches and ur slightly veiled attempt at being a smarts&&....I'm not expecting a tourney bid this yr bc we have no bigs at all returning...I am expecting to have a team that looks well coached....that doesn't change the fact that if we don't make the tourney the season is a failure....I'm expecting a good second class but not a great one bc of the short amount of time. If his second class is comparable to Moore Reese and Edwards then yes he deserves to be on the hot seat. If he has a second class like pearls than I will feel that we have definitely found our man.

You seemed to omit that Martin landed a 5* in his second class, by surprising.

By your standards, if Tyndall misses the dance and doesn't have a top 20 class lined up for 2015 he has failed and deserves to have his seat start getting warm.

U making my standards for me....I feel that we should consistently make the tourney and have top 25 classes....CDT has a chance to build his program though...I counted Stokes as part of his class, and a special case at that....if it had of shown future promise for Zo them he would still be here. His fourth class was rated in the forties by most services and that is not getting it done...

I even said that Zo had earned another yr by going to the sweet sixteen but I didn't think he would get it done. Obviously Dave Hart and Zo agreed that he was on borrowed time.

I haven't seen DT be negative. I think people see what they want at times. But what do we have coming back? @ 15 pts and 10 rebs a game? Just guessing. If that's nothing to be negative about, don't try searching for other things.

I really don't like that CDT has been setting low expectations publicly and frequently. It doesn't matter what is or is not realistic. You simply cannot establish a winning mentality for your basketball team when you keep going around and talking about mediocre (even if realistic) goals and setting the bar low.

As I've said, I like CDT, but this aspect really pi$$es me off.

I think you are reading too much into what he is saying. I have heard at least two radio interviews, and you can tell that he is very confident in what he is doing. However, he needs players. He was asked by Parrish about UK having 9 McDonald's All-Americans, and his response was that he didn't have 9 total players. He has said that his team can win games, but he is working now to add to his roster.

I do not get the same impression that you have implied, and frankly, I think you are taking it in that context alone. Listen to the other things he says.

I am being purely objective. I'll say it again, I like CDT. He should stop mentioning the reasons why he thinks his team can maybe make it to .500. He is wrong to say those things. This should be really clear.

Do you have a quote? Because I have never heard him say this in any interview.

Nonetheless, people will take out what they want in interviews. It really is not clear at all if we are discussing it. The man exudes confidence, and I have yet to hear that he is backing down or will accept mediocrity. You are free to believe otherwise.

In fact, when specifically asked about possibly losing recruits, he said that his first USM team returned only 4 starters. He said "and we did ok that season; we won 27 games, a school record." That sounds like he doesn't provide excuses.

Here's one for you and I honestly can't believe you never heard it because he's said it in pretty much all the interviews (5?) I've heard so far.

“I won’t tell my team this of course, but if I’m going to tell the public, I think a winning season,” Tyndall said. “You’re talking about seven guys, only one double-figure scorer returning. You get the job basically around May 1st and (are) trying to sign guys who can help you win in the SEC. There aren’t many of those guys left. I think a winning season, our fans won’t want to hear that, but realistically that’s probably pretty fair.”
Tyndall noted that could change depending on what happens in the offseason. He may add some junior-college prospects, transfers and perhaps some high-school recruits. But he won’t hand out scholarships simply for the sake of filling his roster.
“If we go into this next season even two or three scholarships short, I’m not going to be concerned,” Tyndall said. “I just hope that everyone understands this first year could be somewhat challenging.”

Quite different from what you were saying; isn't it?

Never heard that. I have seen Kesling's interview after he was hired, and I have heard two radio interviews in Memphis. None of that was said. He must have been answering a specific question about what kind of team or record he would have in his first year.

Again, he has exuded confidence in what I have heard. Take from it what you want, and I will do the same.

Sometimes theirs nothing wrong with tempering expectations. Especially with this fanbase. Not to mention CDT appears to tell it like it is, whether people want to hear it or not. Nothing about his comments in interviews should lead somebody to think he has already thrown in the towel for yr 1.

if the truth hurts, make someone lie to you if you need to feel better. We are loaded and are going to wear people out is a bold face lie right now.

I disagree. CDT should've taken a page out of CBJs book. He never mentioned anything about mediocre results. He constantly emphasized that losing is unacceptable at the University of Tennessee.

We all knew the reality. But CBJ knew and knows that you can't change the reality without establishing a winning mentality. And given that basketball and football are indeed different sports, CDT is in basically the same position.

It's not like CBJ was granted Vol Saint Hood. This board doesn't represent the majority of Fans but there are still skeptics about CBJ. I am not one.

CDT should've taken CBJ advice as in past tense. Less than 2 weeks into the job. Seriously? We don't know if he is or isn't. Just got the staff together and went to visit Cofer with Staff. That is out of the CBJ playbook isn't it? Von Bell. Who is to say Cofer is not going to be a Vol? Legacy.

CBJ and CDT are not identical, I don't think CDT is as polished as CBJ with regards to fans/media. That is the difference, but who is to say it doesn't workout for the best.

2 weeks in and there ain't no telling. I know only one thing for sure about next year is that Martin will not be on the side court line and I and many other will not be wondering when he is leaving or getting axed.

So now you're on record that we should have fired Zo after missing his second straight dance?...wish you had been more vocal...with your sway we could've had CDT a year earlier :)
