Phillips said he would take his top ten down to five in the next 3 months. He will be visiting Florida St, Florida, LSU, and Clemson this Summer and, "most likely" seeing a few teams he has already seen. He also said he will take all five of his visits.
Phillips admitted that Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss and Ohio St are recruiting him the hardest. Although, Tennessee, Alabama and Ole Miss are the favorites with Tennessee leading the way. He wants to see improvement this year from the Vols. Really wants to win a national chanpionship and thinks Tennessee can do that.
According to Wes, Tennessee at least getting to a bowl game would help out quite a bit with Phillips.
A poster stated that the word in Nashville is that UT is leading for Kyle Phillips, but Mom wants him to go to school in Florida or Ohio St. Wes responded that he thinks UT has a slight lead with Alabama and Ole Miss close behind.

Bottom line is proof is in pudding. Kids want to win. Kids like Alabama, they like Saban, but they like winning more. We better win some games. I know BUTCH understands how important this year is. If he flops it can kill recruiting or going 7 and 5 and win bowl game sling shots our recruiting. In my opinion philips,Roseboro, and deberry type players want to see marked improvement and wins

All he needs is a signature win or 2. If we go 6-6 but manage wins against UGA and UF it won't matter. Even if that means losing to Mizzou or Vandy. If he shows he can go toe to toe with big programs he can sell it.

I am with you on this one. Butch understands and stated that this summer is crucial in the rebuilding process. Better believe Butch has lit a fire under Coach Lawson to this team ready especially the DB and D-lineman.

I just think this team will surprise a few teams and scare a whole lot of them.

His Mom had nothing but nice things to say about UT. We sat with Kyle and his Mom last fall for a game, and it was her first time there with Kyle. Nice family. She may have played for Vandy, but sure didn't seem to be an issue.
