Only idiots think were racist. Cuonzo wasn't exactly all too great. We were inches away from running him out of town. He ran himself out of town.
Dave Serrano would love to hear the news that we are racist.

Perception is not reality. It's infact rarely reality of the situation. People's perception of King Barry was that he was going to change everything for the better. It's obviously not true.

Equating a coaching change to a revolution is sophomoric. Coaches of sports teams get fired and hired all the time. Revolutions are on a much larger scale and pretty rare.

CCM didn't take his team to a sweet sixteen, they took him. Last year we had a talented team that should have been ranked in the top 25 all year with only five in the L column. Instead it took a petition to fire the players up enough to win out against the dregs of the SEC, beat a couple of the same bottom dwellers in the SEC tourney to win a play in game spot. We then lucked out that duke was upset and left a cake walk to the sweet sixteen. Don't try to make CCM something he's not. A good coach?

How do we know these kids that are left won't flourish in CDT's system?

For God's sake, let the man have at least a season, even without the benefit of a full recruiting cycle, before the whining begins.

jerry green took the vols to the sweet sixteen. Counzo Martin took them to the sweet sixteen. 100 years from now the record books will still say so. Nothing you say will change that. You are what your record says you are

Bull. The reality is that CCM didn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground when it came to in game adjustments. Remember when Floyd threw that triangle and two zone at him and he looked like a deer in the headlights because he couldn't figure out what was happening. He was and still is a poor coach.

A revolution has not taken place, Mike Hamilton took place. Remember him, the guy Fulmer wanted for AD. He waited two years too long to deal with Fulmer then hired Kiffin and Dooley. By the time he had to deal with Pearl, he had lost so much respect in the coaching world he had to settle for CCM. BTW, character wise CCM is head and shoulders above Kiffin and Dooley, IMO.
The Vol fans I know are passionate and just want to win. Hopefully, CBJ and CDT can do just that - win.

If only idiots think were racists then the majority of the country are idiots. A true idiot is someone who thinks how we are perceived by the majority of the country doesn't matter. Or that it won't kill us in recruiting.

It is tough to follow a very popular coach. That being said, CCM wasn't popular because of his personality and the type of offense he ran. The fans knew Bruce was now back on the market thus the petition. CCM is an avg. coach with no personality, period. Too bad the players waited until the end of the season to get mad and play up to their potential or CCM might still be here.

I don't get where you say he was run off. He went out looking after being offered a raise and an extension.

I think the "fans ran off Cuonzo" is a hilarious idea. He left. He went to another school because he wanted to. I would go out on a limb and say his decision was based on a number of factors. When is the last time a coach made ANY decision based on the fans???

I actually think the players we have returning are a good fit for Tyndall's style of play. I hope they really think about it and buy into his game style.

That's actually a good idea. We need to find a way for all 300 million people in the country to watch that documentary. I don't think were racist. However I know thats how were being seen by the rest of the country.
Actually maybe your right, being seen as racist and a joke might help us in recruiting

IIRC, His salary was raised from 1.3 million to 1.8 million.
His buyout was not 1.6 million, it was 1.3 million..

Why are you counting his buyout as salary? A buyout is not salary.

He did not get a $100,000 decrease in pay after his sweet 16 run, he received a $500,000 raise.

You are saying Cuonzo left for TRIPLE the guaranteed money. Do you have a link to substantiate that claim?

His post should tell you all you need to know. Just think, after every loss next year, people are going to come on here and build "Counzo" up to legend status.

Forgotten will be the head scratching game management decisions, the failed adjustments, the baffling losses.

The story line here will be "There was a revolution led by VolNation.com (hubris, of course), and we ran off the best thing that ever happened to Tennessee basketball! We deserve this loss!" :cray: Haha...this place sometimes.
