Donnie Tyndall Thread

I posted this in another thread. I am not sure Cheek would sign off on a Tyndall hire due to the major recruiting violations he was involved in at Morehead State.

Yup, and it wasn't little secondary violation, pretty major stuff. If Cheek is gonna sign off on Tyndall I would imagine he would sign off on Howland.

He completely overhauled the rosters at both Morehead state and Southern Miss. That is exactly what we need here. He has a lot of work to after this garbage roster Martin has left but he has done it on a lesser stage before.

One of Basilio's guys...

@RussellWNFZ: Hearing from a couple of sources who say it's Tyndall. Nothing confirmed. But there's a lot of smoke there tonight.

Morehead State got 2 years probation and loss of scholarship because of the way Tyndall overhauled their roster.

Well all the local people are saying we haven't even talked to Tyndall today, not a good sign when White shot us down this AM officially.

I don't put much stock in the local guys. That's not a shot at them. I put more stock in the national guys and the beat writers from the place we are trying to get a coach. Most of the writers here are connected to UT, one way or the other.

The baseball search was a good example. Kendall Rogers was right the whole time, nobody here was close...

just my take..

As for Tyndall, the fact that there has been no offer...that sounds right to me...what happened with White, won't happen again. He'll take his name out, or say he's happy where he is, or he will be announced as our new coach. They won't get as far down the tracks and take a "no" again...I hope.

One scholarship lost and probation. No vacation of wins, no postseason ban. Small price to pay for completely turning a program around.

The university knows the record. If it is a bolo, then why would they even be talking to the man?
