Like I've maintained, there has to be something NCAA related going on there. Too many schools have been open that he has let known he's interested in to have nobody even interview him this year.
I have nothing to back this up, just a guess on my part...I'm thinking his AD was likely smart and front loaded this new contract he signed with a large buyout. Miller may only be making $600-$800k/year but I could see his buyout at around $2m possibly being that he just signed the new deal.
With money CLEARLY being a factor, I think that likely turns Hart off on him. I think it would also take $1.5m or possibly more to land him, which when you add in his buyout over a 5 years deal you're talking close to $2m you're investing in him.
In addition to that I think Miller likely realizes what a hot name he is, and is being told you're 1 more good year away from getting a better gig than Tennessee.

If you're going to pay White $1.5, then I think Mack is worth 2
I would not offer White 1.5. He makes about 500 grand a year. I'd double it and IMO he would jump all over it. I think I saw where Mack makes 900 grand a year. IMO I would not offer over 1.4 for him. If it took more than 1.4 to get Mack, I'm going to announce White as the new coach.
You may very well be right. I can't imagine the buyout would be that high with a salary that low. If that's the case I'd be finding me a new agent.
Of all the candidates he impresses me the most of the mid major guys.
If they arent going to get Marshall then I would go with Chris Mack, Donnie Tyndall or White in that order.
Agree, but miller isn't your typical mid major coach either.
What is the fascination with these two? Tyndall has a less than impressive resume. He rode a NBA player to two bids in a bad conference. Nothing besides the Faried years. And during them he still went o a CBI one year and missed the postseason entirely one year. I would take White way before Tyndall but he should be a third to fourth tier candidate. He has only coached three years with two NITs and one post season at home.

This is probably the worst line of logic I've ever heard when reading about a coach. You're holding him recruiting and developing an unranked guy into an NBA player against him?
That's insanity. The guy took over Morehead at the very lowest point a program can be and had them in the NCAA tournament in year 3. He only returned 3 players from the 4 win team and got them to 12 wins in year one.
He, to me, has the best track record of any of the guys we're looking at besides Chris Mack, or Cronin if it's true we're looking at him.
Not better than Tubby, Howland, Cluess, and more. People say this season wasn't impressive because of the talent. I say his two bids aren't impressive due to havinga good NBA player and the best team. He should have had at least 3 bids with Faried. Every other year besides two with him have been average. Its a reason he hasn't sniffed a big job yet.
