Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

Cole Stoudt was outperforming him all Spring from what I hear, he probably wasn't a fan of playing backup his entire career at Clemson and made some bad decisions to show his displeasure. Just a guess.

Cole played pretty well in their Spring game as well. I didn't see Kelly play though so I couldn't compare how they both did.

That would make things a little awkward going forward.

Nice recovery, though...

Technically, they work for the state. You can look up any state employee's salary at any time.

Yeah I get that. It just seems weird to me. And I would never do that. It's totally off topic and not anything that I feel super strongly about necessarily. It just occurred to me that us reading and debating about an employees salary seemed real strange. But it's whatevs.

I heard on TSR on the Jason Swain show that he was escorted off out of the football facilities by the police so that would make sense if he punched a coach. It would be really hard to have a good player coach relationship after that.

I love me some good drama among the schools we recruit against. Just can't help it.

He was Percy Harvin and not a backup and urban Meyer is only coach that puts up with murderers so choking isn't so bad

Aaron was just trying to do like his coach Urbie had trained him to do. Percy didn't have a gun or knife so he had to choke the GA. Urbie's training his players right, when they go to prison they need to know how to defend themselves. He's a great father figure.

Its not a contact sport. Its not as grueling on your body. No baseball player is worth 200+million

I would say Mike Trout projects to be worth about 500 million by the end of his career.

Im not a fan of his but I have a hard time lowering his value after seeing some of the revenue numbers for baseball.

I'm not surprised, and yet I'm always surprised at the knee-jerk-ish reactions from the spring game. It's one snapshot in a body of spring work. It's also important to remember that when one unit shines, they have to make another unit look bad.

I get it though. What else are we going to talk about?

Most of what I'd heard about Dobbs this spring was accuracy and ball control problems. If memory serves, that was a common theme for him as a freshman as well.

Worley is the only QB with consistently positive reports this spring. That said, it's a long time until fall camp is over. Personally, I don't care who wins it. I just want consistent QB play to allow these other guys to run rampant.

I totally agree - we do need to talk some football and have to stretch at times. lol.

I really don't care who wins it either. So many seem to have this Anybody But Worley thing going on when he was the one that could have led them to 6 wins and a bowl game last season if he had not been hurt. I was shouting "Free Fergie" with the best of them last season. Dobbs got a good shot last season and was clearly not ready. Maybe he can step it up now. I don't think we should give up on Nate either. It was a bonehead move to have him start his first game on the road at UF - Worley should have started that game. Whoever it is - support the guy until he proves himself or clearly bombs.

What I really want is for Jake to open the offense now that he has weapons. Let's get the ball to them down the field instead of all of this sideways crap. Quick or deep - get them in space where they can destroy a secondary. Then send the ponies between the tackles to keep the D off balance.

Not a fan because of his team? As a player he is stellar, and he has been exemplary so far in how he carries himself personally.

Watson would pass him anyway, Dabo freeing up space.
