I think Ainge would be one of the most qualified people to blast a kid for being immature. He knows better than anyone the consequences for immaturity. Whether his motives are pure in blasting him, is another debate.

I don't see where this type of criticism is that bad - assuming its true that the coaches are trying to show him how much he has to learn way better for him to get that now as opposed to when he might be thrown in against florida

its not something out of his control and its easy to fix - this is a good type of issue to have - now if EA had said he is stupid and is incapable of picking this up that may be a whole different story

EA is currently a sports commentator -seems like fair game to me regardless of his own indiscretions in the past

Just another Peyton Manning wannabe without having a damn clue what it took for PM to reach his level of excellence in his craft. Riley is the typical dumb azz top jock in high school that washes out at the next level because he has sh*t for brains. I'm on a roll. :)

When people have been talking about Bobby Denton - we go way back. I mean he was a fairly young guy when as a kid I went to my first game in Neyland. I know people are attributing "It's football time in Tennessee" to him but I always associated that more with John Ward. For Bobby, since I was a young kid, the thing that stood out to me the most was when he was talking about the concession stands, "Please pay these prices and please pay no more". At the time I knew we weren't suppose to trust the vendors cause obviously they must try to overcharge people. I loved hearing that and I'll never forget it. It was like the PA announcer was looking out for us. We were in good hands inside Neyland. Just an awesome memory.

Me too - loved him saying "...please pay no more" - and although I loved Bobby saying it in recent years - Ward created the "It's Football Time In Tennessee"! :hi: Guess I'm showing my age but every time I hear those words it takes me back to my youth, sitting in front of the radio on Saturday afternoon with Dad - we would both just look at each other, you could see we both had the wonderful excited-nervous feeling, and then it began! Mom couldn't pull us away from that radio until the last second ticked off! :rock:

I love that Volnation said it together at the O&W game and agree with the poster who said it'd be a great tradition to start with team 118 - can you imagine how awesome if all 104K yelled it together at kickoff!?! :clapping:

These were my thoughts in every detail...

Maybe Ainge wishes today that he had someone in his ear in his day to kick him from behind. Thats my hope: that it is his motivation.

Quick note on football coaching contracts...

All assistants have signed ammendums to their contracts extending them to Feb. 28, 2016 (Hart rolled them over a year as we indicated he was going to).

Tommy Thigpen was the only assistant to receive a raise and it appears that raise was $25,000.00.

My guess is Hart wants a bowl game before more raises. I'm sure if we do well this fall and make a decent bowl, raises will be coming. It's hard to leverage a raise with 5-7 seasons.

Like you said Ainge knows all about immaturity. I tend to believe that he really didn't start "growing up" until he became a father. I believe that started to open his eyes and he had the "my kids not going to make the same mistakes I did" thoughts go through his head. Whatever Ferguson's issues are I hope he works to get them corrected so he can help the team.
