"Gamer" is overplayed. Coaches make practice like the game everyday when entering the lines. Competitor is a competitor. Practice or game

I don't understand why the coaches stuck Ferguson with the 2nd team O...

It's obvious that the coaches think that he's the biggest threat to overtake Worley for the QB job. You'd think the coaches would want him to get as many looks/reps with the 1s.

JMO.

He took reps with the 1s at first, and then the 2s later on. But heres a nice little nugget from KB in the FF.

Ok guys, listening to Ainge and he's lighting Riley up for his performance on Saturday. He's calling him a one trick pony, a QB who has a great arm but hasn't taken the time to immerse himself in understanding pass protection. Ainge is saying until he learns how to fully understand and call pass protections that he's like a gunslinger in a gunfight with a badass gun but no bullets. And that until he learns this that he can't play in the SEC.

Then he said something very interesting. He said he wonders if the coaches weren't trying to teach Riley a lesson in front of 68,000 fans on Saturday by throwing some blitzes at him which resulted in him giving up sacks and getting embarrassed. Ainge said that for the most part the first team D played vanilla base defense except versus Riley, and it showed, because he has no clue about pass protection which resulted in the 3 sacks he took. He finally said that IF Butch did this, he thinks it's a stroke of genius to teach Riley a lesson. I would have to agree.

They play 10X as many games, but the top contracts aren't worth 10X more than the top football contracts. It's not as ridiculous when you're looking at what you pay players per game they actually play. Except starting pitchers.

Its not a contact sport. Its not as grueling on your body. No baseball player is worth 200+million

I never thought of it like that though. I would pay money if there was a replay. I know Swafford came on strong side blitz. Riley probably saw a couple stunts also.

naw.you always just have some ***** on here that has to talk about everything but the subject the tgread is about.

Then post some Gentry info if you're that worried about it. If it hasn't been posted, it means there is nothing to discuss. Once there is another article, people will stop talking about Vick and three 6 mafia and whatever else and start discussing Gentry.

Last year it was widely reported that our offensive line was arguably the best in the SEC. Obviously we had other issues and those and perhaps Tiny playing at 65% challenged those reports on gameday. Call it the nature of the business but I don't expect to see reports this year that flat out states that we have the worst offensive line in the conference but I think factually that would be a pretty accurate report. Some how I hope our guys up front get this message loud and clear so much to the point that they get sick and damn angry at hearing it - from their own fans, then maybe they'll pull out an effort like our basketball team and play up to the challenge carrying a big azz chip on their shoulders to the very end. It's probably our only hope. We need big uglies up front and we have 5 cute fwat wittle babies.

If we had an offensive line this year with everything else we've got we'd make some real Tennessee football noise. As it is all we're likely to be treated to is the whiny nagging crying of a group of pre-potty trained over-stuffed lard azz babies. I wouldn't be opposed to putting every damn one of them up for adoption right now. I know some people will say I'm going too far and these guys will probably surprise us this year but for all you mommies I want to let you in on a little secret, these guys, your precious little baby boys, are the very definition of girly boys. And saving the best for last, these puny wimps probably wouldn't even be accepted as walkons at Candy. :)

@Vol_Football: JONES: @WorleyBird_14 has made great strides. Justin has really, really improved. @josh_dobbs1 really turned it on in the spring game.

@Vol_Football: JONES: @josh_dobbs1 was inducted into the National Scholastic Honor Society on after the game. That’s they kind of man he is.

@Vol_Football: JONES: Our fans were waiting in line at 4am, it makes you want to work that much hard when you have people depending on you like that.

@Vol_Football: JONES: Josh Malone had a tremendous day. @MrHurd_1 did some special things. Our tight ends (@Bcountry18 @helm_daniel) showed a lot.

@Vol_Football: JONES Any young man that experiences Rocky Top should have Tennessee in their top schools. This is a very, very special place.

I completely agree with Ainge. I'm 100% in the Riley camp but he will never play here unless he overcomes his high school mindset. He is without a doubt the DUMBEST QB on our roster, probably the laziest too, and it's a shame with all the physical talent he has. He may be cocky but everything I've read, heard, and seen since he arrived on campus screams that he doesn't have anything at all to be cocky about. He is such a complete and utter waste of talent at this point it's sickening. Just another Peyton Manning wannabe without having a damn clue what it took for PM to reach his level of excellence in his craft. Riley is the typical dumb azz top jock in high school that washes out at the next level because he has sh*t for brains. I'm on a roll. :)

Exactly.

Ainge quickly forgot that he struggled in that dept as well.

I think both he and you are right but his job today is not LSU. I'm glad he's piling it on.

If tough love can get our basketball team to the sweet-16 maybe it can get our football team to 7 wins this year.

Ferguson is a RS FRESHMAN that has not seen the field yet. For Ainge to blast him like that in Knoxville is Bush.

I understand you think Riley needs hugs; some of us think he needs a kick in his butt. He needs to grow up and the only way that is possible is if he's challenged just as much if not more so than he's hugged.

When did it become the media or fans responsibility to motivate players?

I'm sure Butch is doing a great job of that.

Sure the kid needs to grow in areas of the game. That's why coaches are hired.
