"Just the overall vision of coach Butch Jones has," Johnson said on why Tennessee is a contender for his commitment. "He's a really good guy and I can tell by everything he says he is about Tennessee and he legitimately cares about them. He wants to get Tennessee back to where it was, to when you see them on your schedule they were kind of like the Alabama that's Alabama now, 'We've got Tennessee, we've got to go hard this week.'"
"Probably just the way they practiced. They had everything going on at one time but it was smooth. Some schools aren't like that and it's terrible," Johnson said. "Another thing was I got pretty excited when coach Jones told us they were moving to Nike in 2015. That put a big grin on my face."
"It was the same thing as with Tennessee. South Carolina, they've been maintaining the success they've had the last three season with three 11-win seasons in a row," Johnson said. "It's just the overall town and the culture and the people in the down. That's what really makes a college town great. Eventually that translates into the team because if everyone is cohesive great things are going to happen."
Johnson said he still has a few more visits he wants to take before narrowing his list down to 10 or 12 schools and then he plans to decide in the fall at his Under Armour All-American Game jersey presentation. Before an announcement, though, Johnson said he will visit the Vols once more. "I'm not sure when but I'm definitely going to go back to Knoxville. I love it there," Johnson said.
