I guarantee Volnation could give ESPN better ratings than at least 2 of those things.

You're probably correct, we'd probably get much better than all three. I just said what I did because we've gotten shoved to one of the lesser channels before. UT needs to have a guarantee that we'll be on ESPN (which most cable and dish companies carry) instead of one that only 10-15% carry. JMO

Wasn't anything against you, just making a general statement. I'm okay with ESPN3 since I get that, but I would prefer to watch it on my tv instead of my computer. NBC Sports and Fox Sports 1 needs to jump in on these spring games since they are high quality HD channels that often lack quality programming.

Foreman to WR?

He's a guy they might look at on offense at some point if he can't get on the field on defense. That's a pretty crowded receiver group with more coming in with a guy like Wharton who will play the slot.

Honestly, I thought he would have a more productive spring at corner than what he has.

Nice! A night game, plenty of time to start drinking and getting wasted on labor day.

Vols' Opener Vs. Utah St. Moved To Aug. 31 - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Tennessee announced that its season-opening football game against Utah State will move to Sunday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. The game was originally slated for Saturday, Aug. 30, and the move to Sunday means that the annual Boomsday event held in the city of Knoxville will move to Saturday evening, giving Vols fans the opportunity for a unique and memorable Labor Day weekend.

The game will be televised by the SEC Network.

"This will be a unique and exciting weekend for our city and our state," said Tennessee head football coach Butch Jones. "With Boomsday on Saturday and our season opener on Sunday, the atmosphere and energy in Knoxville will be unrivaled. We're also excited about being one of the schools featured on the first weekend of SEC Network football telecasts, and we are looking forward to this tremendous opportunity."

The Utah State game will mark the seventh time Tennessee has played a game on Sunday, and the Vols are 3-2-1 all-time in those six games. The last Sunday contest for Tennessee was the season opener on Sept. 5, 2004, a 42-17 win over UNLV that marks the only Sunday game to date in Neyland Stadium history.

The game is one of at least six SEC games slated to air the opening weekend of football on the SEC Network, which officially launches on Thursday, Aug. 14. It joins a Thursday night doubleheader of Texas A&M at South Carolina and Temple at Vanderbilt, in addition to a tripleheader on Saturday, Aug. 30.

"We are thrilled to have the Tennessee Vols home opener on the SEC Network," said Justin Connolly, ESPN senior vice president, college networks. "Tennessee has a rich tradition of passionate college football fans, and we look forward to providing exclusive coverage of a packed Neyland Stadium Labor Day weekend."

I saw something on govols247 in their weekly VIP report that there were some "major" late spring position changes. Does anyone know who they are talking about?

I wonder if Direct TV will pick up the SEC Network by then? I will be at the game but some family members won't be.

Not sure I understand this move. I thought depth at CB was more of a problem than WR. Maybe his skillset is just not working out at CB. CBJ's next media session should have some interesting info.

Could just be the inverse of the Vincent Dallas experiment last year.

IMO, they are waiting for the right time to announce it to generate buzz. From my view, I'm glad Dish Network didn't f around.

sorry if this has been answered already, but did the team practice yesterday? The sticky thread in the FF seems to indicate they should have, but I can't find any reports on it if so.
