Don't put your big guy in that position, let him do what he does which is get offensive rebounds
Your knowledge of basketball can be held in a thimble. Please stop posting you are embarrasing yourself. We get it, you don't like Coach Martin, but hopefully he will be back with a large raise and multi year extension and you will have a few more years to gripe and show your ignorance. SMDH
Worked out well...
Where was Stokes in that play? ON THE LOW BLOCK. Not a foot inside the arc on the sideline.
Two completely different scenarios. but you know that.
Bad play call.
to ask if Cuonzo Martin can write up a must have set play. Based on the many opportunities he's had to date, including T/O's called at the end of a half, the answer is no.
I am not the one who gave my power forward the ball in the corner 18 feet from the goal. They didn't even get a shot off, give the ball to a slasher and let him drive the d will panic and collapse down on him then he can dish it off or let Stokes get the off rebound, put back win. Martin in an idiot, pathetic excuse for a coach dear god they better not give him an extension.
Don't put your big man in a situation to get doubled and pass to the open man? Especially when said big man is one of the better passers out of the double and was guaranteed to get doubled there?
You take a greater risk of a charge by throwing it in to a guard and trying to dribble drive. The charge they called is not a charge 99 pct of the time
exactly... but Stokes didn't even look at McRae. He was given the green light and took it.
bad play call.
Now if he passes it, great call, brilliant call. But that wasn't the plan. Cuonzo called a 1 dimensional play and we didn't even get a shot up.
I feel for the kids.
You clearly don't have a clue about basketball. That was a play that 9 out of 10 times gets you 2 ft's to win the game - most of the time refs will give that advantage to the star offensive player and the way Stokes has been shooting them in the tournament it was a logical play to call. McRae was hot in the second half - Michigan knew that so it was to be expected he would be double teamed during that last play.
Stokes wasn't gonna drive or shoot that ball unless it was wide open. Sooner you realize that the better. He splits that double it's a lay up, otherwise he was passing to McRae at the top of the key.
Toss to Stokes in corner, gets doubled, man cuts, Stokes dumps him the ball, someone else has to help or we have a lay up.
It's a pretty good play call since Michigan was betting on McRae getting the inbounds.
So with 9 seconds you want Stokes 18 feet from the goal instead of Richardson or McRae?
