TN HB-1547 on 'student religious freedom'

Of course not, but I would have a problem with a student expressing their religious beliefs in their work and that said belief goes directly against facts or science. How do you grade that students work without discriminating their religion?

Can you tell me what happened to the monkey to change its DNA to get me here? Then can you tell me why it stopped?
Why don't we have half monkey half humans being found in the jungles? ( this might be Bigfoot)

I've read and addressed it. The whole thing is a useless mess

Yep, it sure is. I guess a Christian teacher should be able to discriminate against a student that expresses a Muslim view on a homework assignment.

You have such a childish understanding of evolution I'm not sure any explanation would help.

Actually, Bart was just a random name I pulled lol. That wasn't actually meant for you

Ah, my bad. Bart's an uncommon name and the anti-science crowd have been taking random shots at me around this forum, hence the confusion. Carry on :hi:

I watched Blazing Saddles last night. It was the first name that popped into my head

My mistake. I wasn't sure if we had nailed that down yet.

Carry on.

It may have been . This thread has exploded today. I have not read it all. Sorry if it has been covered., I shouldn't be so lazy and read it all. :hi:

Yet at one point, likely when they were young, they would have believed. They were given no opportunity and did not have the ability to make a choice. This means they were forced at one point to believe

I must be doing it wrong.

They shouldn't do that anyways if it pertains to the subject. If headed correctly it should never be an issue

So the flip side is forcing a young child to believe that there is no God right?

They shouldn't do a lot of things in school these days. Which is why they have to legislate common sense a whole lot more.

You confuse me with someone who is a proponent of organized religion, of which I am not. But your analogy is silly because it implies a parent would be irresponsible enough to let a child go wielding a handgun unsupervised. And somehow this translates into letting a child go unsupervised in matters of religion and go out and cause extreme harm to someone. And when was the last time an eight year old kid caused irreparable harm on anything from something they learned in church?

So hence, your point is quite silly. Probably best to drop it, it's not going to get any better for you.

But you already said your children are not old enough to be able to determine for themselves, so how do you know for certain they would be asked not to come back? But the question could be phrased differently I suppose...

Have you ever asked your children if they want to go to church? We're making this all about the kids and what they want to do, have you ever posed that question of whether they might like to attend?

You amuse me with your pseudo intellectual babble.

So.... You saying you don't know?

I've seen the pics at school. Offer it up buddy.

Evolution happens over millions of years as random mutations in the genetic code will occasionally give a trait to an animal that helps it better compete in its environment. It passes on its mutated genes as it is the most successful, until all the original animals die out or leave that environment because they cannot compete any longer. Over millions of years, this process produces a multitude of species that end up looking nothing like their original ancestor.

What do you think about Neanderthals? I didn't see any mention of them in the Bible.
