Branisel leaving Tennessee

Redshirt sophomore tight end A.J. Branisel is leaving the Tennessee football program, according to Jimmy Hyams. Bransiel redshirted last season, but caught three passes in 10 games as a true freshman during the 2013 season.

Tennessee is expected to rely heavily on Ethan Wolf this season. He started 11 games at tight end for the Vols last year, catching 23 passes for 212 yards.

Another player who contributed at the position in 2014 is redshirt senior Alex Ellis. He caught six passes for 115 yards and a touchdown last year.

Joe Stocstill and Neiko Creamer also return, and the Vols added walk-0n freshmen Eli Wolf and Will Jumper to the roster.

In addition, Jakob Johnson will get a look at tight end this fall, moving over from the defense last week.
