Ulysses Alexander was pretty much an unknown by most UT Fans until late on signing day. He was recruited by Mississippi State but decided to be a Volunteer at the last minute.

Alexander was a two year starter at Northwestern where he played Defensive End and Tight End on a team that peferred to run the football the majority of the time. His Jr. year he didn't play all that much due to injuries but his senior year he caught 40 passes and 8 touchdowns.

Ulysses attended the same high school as former Vol Horace Morris who is now an assistant coach at the school. Alexander was recruited by Trooper Taylor and his committment will hopefully help open a future pipeline for the Vols into the Miami area. He is expected not to enroll until January.

Other tidbits: Ulysses Alexander was born on May 17, 1987 and is the nephew of rap star Luther Campbell of 2 Live Crew.
