Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Drew Richmond has been suspended for Tennessee’s opener against Georgia Tech, according to Butch Jones.

“Drew Richmond will not make the trip to Atlanta,” Butch said. “He will be suspended for a violation of team rules If he does everything he needs to do he will be back against Indiana State.”
Rumors surfaced more than two weeks ago about possible suspensions, with multiple names tossed around. When asked at that time, Butch said “I know there’s a lot of rumors out there and I don’t comment on rumors. If there is a suspension, I think we’ve been pretty consistent and we’ll talk about that.”
Brett Kendrick is expected to get the starting nod at left tackle in Richmond’s absence.
