Tennessee has fired men’s basketball coach Donnie Tyndall, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the decision.
The sources requested anonymity because UT has not yet officially announced the firing. An official announcement is expected today.
Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart met with UT players early this morning to inform them of the decision.

The vetting by Dave Hart was ridiculous in this hiring. As for Tyndall personally I won’t miss him. The good news is that we won’t lose any recruits because there are none.
Too bad this train wreck occurred, but it’s no surprise. Take your time, Dave, and maybe you can properly vet the next guy more thoroughly…and open up that checkbook. We need sweet honey to lure a big bear.
At least there’s no astronomical buyout to pay !
