Josh Smith won’t travel to Georgia

Tennessee wide receiver Josh Smith will not be on the travel squad to Athens for this weekend’s matchup against the Bulldogs.

“Josh Smith will not make the trip to Athens,” Butch Jones said on Nashville radio Thursday afternoon. “We will also be minus Von Pearson. Josh Malone will have a great opportunity.”

Smith suffered a high ankle sprain against Oklahoma on September 13th. So far this season, he has 10 receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown.

On the bright side, Tennessee is healthier at the tight end position with both Ethan Wolf and Daniel Helm returning. In addition, both Trevarris Saulsberry and Darrell Scott will also be available.

  1. it will be hard to be with out Von Pearson and Josh Smith, the pair are game changers for sure,I wish both of them a speedy recovery

It is great to get both of UTs tight ends back for this game, hopefully they will help the blocking and catch some balls,it is hard to tell how much it will mean to the team come Saturday

it is good to see Saulsberry back, hopefully he can stay healthy and Scott should help out as another running back
    Go Vols
