Tariq Owens, a 3-star power forward and former Ohio commit, is confirmed to be on campus visiting Tennessee today. Owens measures 6-foot-8 and weighs between 180 and 205 pounds, depending on whom you believe. He’s part of the 2014 class and was released in April from the LOI he had signed with Ohio.
“They definitely have a need for his skill set and what he can do,” Owens’ father told the News Sentinel earlier this week. “They are showing they are interested, and they would like for him to come.”
Owens recently visited Seton Hall and Temple, and may visit Dayton depending on his father’s schedule.
Other schools who have offered, according to Owens’ father: Marquette, Florida State, Central Florida, UNLV, Washington, San Jose State and others.
