No surprises from what we’ve seen with Trey Smith and Drew Richmond at the left and right tackle spots, Jamir Johnson and Ryan Johnson at left and right guard and Brandon Kennedy seemingly entrenched at center. That’s how things have looked for the last week or so and that seems likely to be how Tennessee will open on Saturday.

Guys like Jerome Carvin, Chance Hall, K’Rojhn Calbert and Marcus Tatum continued to be repped hard so don’t be surprised to see the Vols play more than five up front as Pruitt has hinted.

At receiver Jajuan Jennings looks like he’s finishing camp on a high note after being slowed earlier with some nicks and bruises.

Linebacker Darrin Kirkland, Jr. continues to practice but is managed through the individual work.

Projected starting center Brandon Kennedy returned to offensive line drills on Tuesday.

Linebacker signee JJ Peterson was not at practice on Tuesday.

Darrin Kirkland Jr. was limited to working on the side with Fitzgerald on Tuesday after going through drills on Monday as the Vols continue to manage him leading up to Saturday's opener.

Tennessee might not be ready just yet to trust its freshmen on the defensive line. Beyond the projected starting trio of Shy Tuttle, Kyle Phillips and Alexis Johnson, it looks like junior-college transfer Emmit Gooden, veteran walk-on Paul Bain and sophomore Kivon Bennett, who is back with the defensive line after spending a little more than a week at outside linebacker, were getting the most work on Tuesday.

Looks a lot faster. The Running Back drill throw the bowling pins looked insane. Go Vols! You'll dominate.

I know this is probably just hopeful thinking being a big Vol fan for many years, but could this team be much better than all the "experts" think? I guess even the coaches don't really know what they have yet? I do wonder if the coaches are surprised by some of the unknown talent on the team, or are they surprised by the lack of talent on the team? It would be interesting to know how these coaches view this team. I guess the answer is a little of both. Like how could the DL be so limited in players? Perhaps the CB position has the same question? I mean, what would we have done without the newcomers. It is almost never a good thing when true freshmen are the best you have a position. Oh well, I guess we will know soon and I will be there!!

Happy to hear JJ looks like he’s ready to go. Seems like he went from frustrated/hobbling/not liking good to looking really good in the blink of an eye. Hope he’s 100% and ready to roll.

Man, I don't know if this is the place for this, but Eric Crosby was a big recruit for us. Now he has been deemed not even good enough to play DT, so he got switched to OL. Dude isn't even in the OL 2 deep. Is he the biggest bust no one is talking about? Or is he a victim of the new position swaps?

It seems like he was switched there right away because he's big and they needed bodies. But now that he's not even in the 2 deep, why can't you at least let him go back to DT? I've been confused by this for a while.
