Guard play again determines a basketball game. Notre Dame Guards 19 of 36 while UConn Guards go 7 of 24. The elite guard play of Notre Dame wins this game.

Both teams only played 6 players, although ND only has 7 scholarship players.
Seeing these teams run offense is fun to watch. We need to get an offensive specialist as a coach.

Shepard and Marina played 43 minutes. Jackie and Arike played all 45 minutes. On MSST side, only Teaira played over 40 minutes. The rest of their squad, especially Victoria, should be well rested. Danberry was huge off the bench for them.

Hoping that MSST takes care of business on Sunday. ND is very similar to Louisville in style of play and matchups, without that tough PF matchup that Victoria struggled with defensively. Unless nerves kick their @sses, I like MSST in this one.

From the BONEYARD:

Lots of off the rail fans in the chat. Clobbering "their" own players, coaches and team. Very strange.

Good thing for those people UCONN only loses one time/year. Any more than that and those folks would be homicidal.

This fanbase really needs to handle losses better. The blame game sickens me especially when it's targeted at young women who play their hearts out. Geno can handle the criticism, but what I've seen tonight is really disgraceful comments directed at young women who give their all. Basketball is a game and nothing more. Get over it. On to next season. Wow.

And to Uconns credit. They played a near perfect game shooting 49% from th e floor to ND 47%. Free throws was the difference in this game.

I remember the old days when we would celebrate the big Final Four LV wins. Sadly now we seem to take more enjoyment in UConn losses, probably because there are no more big LV wins. Oh well.

Everyone is cheering for UConn to lose. Not just us. And I have been cheering against them since at least 2004 when they beat us. GLV!!

The game was won a couple of times by Notre Dame and they let UConn get back in. Then in dramatic fashion nail that shot with a second left and UConn got a shot at the basket in that one second. So glad Notre Dame won it was a fabulous games as was Miss St. vs. Louisville.

We still have a terrible coach... but damn, it sure does warm the heart to see Geno lose.

Ole Geno never fails. He had the same little smirky smile on his face as the game ended. It seemed to say (at least to me)how in the h### did that happen again.I love it!!!
Now get going Lady Vols, put that silly little smile on his face again!

Uconn is dominating the sport, as much as it can now be dominated, while we are being told this is not possible in todays basketball.

So the final shot would have counted? Basketball version of Hail Mary.

It's good for a fan base to lose occasionally....The UConn people thought they were immune to losses, they're not.

ND had no fear of them...That was evident from the first tip....

It was a fun game to watch...

Uconn lost bake them a cake hoping they don't get a belly ache. Everybody loses eventually and they haven't lost much still a lot of crying going on two long years without a title must be awful.

I don't know that it would've counted but she caught the long pass and got it off. I'm glad it didn't go in think it might have been on time.
