Wisconsin wide receiver Quintez Cephus announced Saturday that he will take an indefinite leave of absence from the team in order to focus his attention on fighting undisclosed criminal charges.

The junior tweeted a statement in which he claimed he had been “wrongly accused of unlawful conduct,” though he did not say what specific charges he was facing. Cephus said the specific incident occurred in April of this year, that he has been under investigation for more than three months and the allegations were associated with what he claimed to be a “consensual relationship.”

I'm surprised that dude wasn't just fired immediately, given 1) the fact that it happened at Louisville and given their reputation they would act decisively to make it look like they've turned over a new leaf, 2) one of the charges is a felony, and 3) he's just the TE coach.

...and there's currently a widely followed story currently in the news, part of which involves an assistant getting a DUI. Maybe this guy is related to a Petrino mentor. LOL

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville football player Kemari Averett has been arrested and charged with putting a gun to his girlfriend's head and threatening to kill her. The tight end has been suspended from the team.

Averett is being held on $10,000 bond pending arraignment. University police charged him with first-degree wanton endangerment and fourth-degree assault.

According to the arrest citation, Averett realized his laptop was missing from a backpack returned by his girlfriend. He then approached her car and put a gun to her temple, threatening to kill her. The report adds that Averett threatened to shoot the car and told her he would "have my people looking for you."

The suspension is indefinite, and coach Bobby Petrino says in a statement that Averett is barred from the team facility and activities. Petrino adds that the team strives to "develop a culture of accountability that everyone in our program must live up to."

TCU wide receiver KaVontae Turpin was arrested Sunday on a charge of assault of a family member with bodily injury, according to Tarrant County (Texas) jail records.

"He's suspended," TCU coach Gary Patterson said. "My track record speaks for itself. We're gathering information. But he probably won't play against Kansas. We haven't received any information, a police report or anything. But he knows how all that goes. All of them [the players] do."

What truly helped Dunn here is that the jurors heard a voice recording where the accuser stated that she would lie to everyone and tell them he had raped her. Once that admission was heard, the charges were rightfully thrown out.

What the heck? Why is the accuser not charged in these cases? Its making it worse for those that have truly been raped.

I swear I know this might not be "PC", but we have a epidemic of gold digging whores in America.
