How is it possible that Arkansas is this bad?

Combination of Bielema crap players with Morris' system that is a total mismatch for the personnel.

Bad QB + Bad OL = lots of losing. Defense actually didn't play too bad but 6 interceptions will do that to you.

That would make sense if the refs ordinarily blew the whistle when a fair catch is called for. If they heard a whistle, why did they continue to run down the field full bore? Surely they would have slowed down, thinking the play had been blown dead.

Their body language and how they finished the play is consistent with them thinking he had called a fair catch.
