Hiring an NFL assistant who has never been a coordinator is always a recipe for success. Has this ever worked?

Ummmm...no...:)

Also, wasn't Bienemy a huge RB for them back in the day???...that ALWAYS works too, hiring a former standout to come back and bring the program to glory...

Peyton Manning to coach Vols...

To be fair, at least Spurrier had first proven himself as a coach.

Spurrier won at Duke... This is correct.

If Peyton Manning went and took Memphis to a few bowl games as HC I would be freaking pumped if we could get him as coach.

But what about all the people on VN with "sources" that said someone else would be the coach?

They'll probably have a little bit of success. They'll bring in a fairly decent recruiting class. Colorado has a beautiful campus and strong academics, so doing so shouldn't be too entirely difficult. Plus, the Pac-10 isn't very strong. They'll be fine.

Unless the PAC 10 sponsors ski teams, not too much to worry about from the Muffs...except the money you will be sending them.
