You serious David from Queens? I included the OG OP-ED and several non subs.

Stop being biased, its at least a 4 star.

Tennessee fan describing a 2 star as a 4 star. I see the delusion from the FF has spread to here.

(Disclaimer: UF is right there at the bottom of the barrel with you)

Wow. So since public corporations will require a “federal charter” they probably require federal oversight too. In fact maybe we should have federal employees on the board to insure the executives comply with the federal rules.

Capitalism... it’s veiled socialism and it really isn’t even veiled well.

"Warren wants to create an Office of United States Corporations inside the Department of Commerce and require any corporation with revenue over $1 billion — only a few thousand companies, but a large share of overall employment and economic activity — to obtain a federal charter of corporate citizenship."

Attorneys and CPAs that specialize in reorganizing capital structures are going to have a windfall. As every corporation passes $900 million in revenue they will figure out how to spin off pieces to remain under the billion dollar threshold. This is similar to Obamacare causing many small companies to throttle their own growth in order to stay under the 50 or so employee head count in order to avoid the additional government red tape kicking in.

If the Democratic Party can't learn to play nice with businesses operating in this capitalist constitutional republic, I hope that they instead become extinct.

You aren't wrong and its a dumb idea. I suspect the point of it is not that it is an actual proposal but is a means of calling attention to the fact that the tax breaks are making corporations and wealthy stockholders even wealthier, but that expansion of the job base has been with no real wage growth.

As I recall from report on CNBC last week, in the last year wage growth has been 2.7 percent, but inflation has been 2.9 percent. So if anything its a tiny slide backwards for the working class.

How about utilizing tax policy to accomplish similar results? Accelerate depreciation on capital investment, especially real estate improvements. Encourage any profits earned over seas to be brought home. Incentivize any business to be charitable (more things like Dominos filling potholes). Create tax credits for hiring and retaining more employees and paying them more. Index capital gains to encourage long term holding of equities. Creating yet another government office to regulate corporations even more is just stupid and proposing it just excites the least common denominator of ignorant voters.

And... Socialism...

I agree, it's as thread worthy of anything LG starts.

See what happens when I take a nap. Threads pop up.

It's not even thinly veiled socialism. Politicians have for a long time acted as if our money is theirs anyway. This bill to socialism is pretty blatant attempt to claim corporation wealth. I'm sure it won't go anywhere, but they are trialing bills that push that limit.

Lol at getting wealthy because the government isn’t taking as much from you as before. They are a benevolent lot for sure.
