And yes it was. He went to Prep to get better scholarship offers. He didn’t have many if any P5 offers out of Carter

Bowden's parents met with Barnes when Jordan was attending Prep School and asked why UT wasn't recruiting their son and Barnes said they were told by a scout they trusted Bowden wasn't good enough to play at UT. Bowden's family asked UT to re-evaluate Jordan themeselves and Barnes agreed. It was after that UT scouted Bowden and offered him a scholarship
