Debuts of HC’s We Wanted & Didn’t Get

Moras recruiting is not the point. Kelly was a big system guy and he needed specific guys to fit that system. Now, if he walked into a roster full of guys that dont fit that, how do you reckon he fixes that in 1 year? He cannot. He is in the same situation as Pruitt in a way. Kellys system works in college. There is no denying that. And when he gets the guys he thinks he needs to run it, they will be good again. But to say getting the guys you want to run your system is nothing but a theory is dumb.
It DID work in college. Started out working in the pros, but that changed. And **** you with the “dumb” comment! We don’t know what he’s lacking or not lacking...so to unilaterally declare such is DUMB! The dude drafted Matt Barkley in Philly and never sniffed an available Vick or Kaepernick at either stop. Even one of his most devoted worshippers on this board expressed puzzlement at his to date recruiting efforts. Go back and Google UCLA’s recruiting class rankings the last few seasons. Even with Kelly sticking with ESPN instead of getting on the job immediately after the hire, he kept enough players from the top 10 effort Mora had scrounged together to stay in the top 20...so spare me this destitute athletic tank sob story! With his recent “efforts” in recruiting “his kind of players” that might just be a working THEORY of failure.

Absolutely ridiculous to equate coaching in the NFL to college. Case in point, how did Saban and Spurrier do in the NFL? See?

(*laughing*) So you're using this equation. A'ight. Riddle me this: WAS and MIA were bad before Spurrier and Saban got there, were they not?? And, with the exception of MIA, they still are, right?? Meanwhile, Gruden comes from a "winning" team (sorry, but ONE season of Rich Gannon playing absolutely out of his freaking MIND does not equal a winning program) and goes to a winning team (Dungy was a hell of a coach, just couldn't get them over the hump despite having a top 10 defense led by a (probably) HOF DC).......then proceeds to unequivocally and totally defecate the bed after winning it all (with, again, ONE season of Brad Johnson playing absolutely OUT OF HIS MARBLE football and oh yeah, a #1 overall defense). Despite being the head coach (for those in the cheap seats, that meant he had total say over personnel decisions, and it wasn't ownership giving Monte a blank check), his vaunted offensive genius was nowhere to be found. Yes, TB has been bad as well. Gotcha. But there are entirely too many people giving Gruden all the credit for that TB Super Bowl, when in reality it was lightning in a bottle and Monte Kiffin's #1 defense.

Dude is a TRASH head coach, and will be fired by the Raiders organization within 3 years. He has no excuses, he's got a top 10 QB in Carr and one of the best (can't believe I just said that about a Gump) WRs in the league under his thumb. For the Raiders to be this pathetic, it leads directly back to the HC.

Better hope Taggart works out at FSU. Rumor has it there are already internal rumblings of dissatisfaction. The next call they make could be to Pruitt.

Alabama's Jeremy Pruitt should be second call FSU makes to replace Fisher

Pruitt isn't going to FSU...or anywhere other than Bama, if they call. Even that, honestly, is a coin flip.

He came here to make his name as a head coach. He won't leave, on his own, until he thinks it's done.

He might never do what the General did here, or even Fulmer, but he will win here. He's going to write his name on a Stadium Wall someday. Might as well be Neyland.

Go Vols.

John Gruden 0 and 2, Scott Frost 0 and 2, UCLA terrible, Florida State what happened there didn't Jimbo recruit?
