Bethesda blocks resale of used game

This actually pisses me off lol. Bethesda is claiming that "First Sale Doctrine" doesn't apply to used video games because it doesn't have a warranty and therefore is "genuinely different from genuine products".

This is stupid and will blow over. Bethesda looks like assholes and for what? To stop a few used game sales? Good work guys.

The used game market is going to die anyway. Digital downloads / streaming is where the industry is headed.

Seems they just wanted the person to remove the "new" distinction, since it was not being sold directly by a licensed reseller. I think i understand their point here, they are just wrong. To their point, people (not authorized sellers) could sell items as "new", but when users open them they find out that stuff is missing, not working, non-official stuff was added in, or even is a burned copy with attached virus, etc.; because the seller opened it and then shrink wrapped it back. This can make your company look bad and leave it with a mess to clean up. My issue with their point is that i would blame the seller, not the publisher.
