Why would he not be here in 4 years other than a huge scandal?

There are several scenarios.
1. Is extremely successful and is hired away
2. Is extremely successful and has extension
3. Sucks it up and is fired

The average tenure for a FBS coach is 3.8 years

Most college football players will be forced to change head coaches at least once in their career

Kickers don’t get a lot of attention until very late.

I would encourage attending some Kohl’s camps over the next few years, but don’t expect teams to be beating down the door for a kicker that young.

I would also encourage reformatting your thread title to the recruiting forum standard so this thread will become relevant in due time.

I would've taken being recruited by a D1 program.. I hated junior high...

Most of the time Kickers are discovered in camps school's put on. I would suggest telling him to go to UT's special teams camp in June

Answer: I don't know if they have checked him out yet. If they did he didn't know about it. I understand he may not know they are looking.

Also, I realize it is early for the kid, especially as a kicker.
