Saw this on twitter.... Mystery on highway causing spill of thousands of Skittles on their way to feed cows. Fist off... who knew cows were fed Skittles? Second... how sad must it be to be a damn cow and youre fed Skittles. Let the poor bastards eat some fracking grass before they're be headed or drained of all their precious milk, not nasty ass Skittles.

I'd rather eat skittles than grass.

Most candy is made from corn syrup, it's cheaper to buy non food grade candy than grain. This is very common on large operations.

They should feed them the green apple ones since they're disgusting and they changed lime to green apple and still have the nerve to call it "original flavor" Skittles.

From the article:
"I think it's a viable (diet)," John Waller, an animal science professor at the University of Tennessee, told Live Science. "It keeps fat material from going out in the landfill, and it's a good way to get nutrients in these cattle. The alternative would be to put (the candy) in a landfill somewhere."

It's not just skittles. The practice of feeding cows processed food output that doesn't measure up to standards is decades old. Corn chips, et al.

Green apple >>>>>>> lime.

Hell no! Green apple totally screws up the flavor of the rainbow. Now when you pop a handful in your mouth the green apple over powers the rest of the flavors instead of being harmonious like it was with the lime.

I raised some pigs this year. I fed them anything they would eat. They loved Doritos and snack cakes but didn't like bread? Go figure.

This misconception is from the practice of feeding used mash to pigs. Yes, brewing and distilling "waste" can be fed to pigs and cattle.

Now just how much of this boiling hot pig slop made it into the cabin of that truck?
