Man, I've seen a few elevators in my time and I can tell you not a single one of them ever appeared to be that thin and so easily damaged. Mind you I've never needed to kick the hell out of one. I have also seen firemen work their butts off trying to pry them open before when the elevator wasn't on that floor.

I like how the article says, "he goes to inspect the damage he caused to the door". That dude wasn't inspecting anything. It looked like he walked into the door either expecting the elevator to be there or to just fall down the shaft.
