May be getting a new riding mower this year. Always had a manual and just use the clutch to slow down around trees or for turns.

For those of you who have an automatic, how annoying is it holding down the gas pedal? They seem very stiff and difficult to hold down when I've sat on one at HD or Lowes.

I assume you are speaking of hydrostatic drive? I mow three acres and just set the cruise control.

I suggest staying away from the big box store mowers. Spend a little extra and get a higher end mower.

I had a 2005 Craftsman and it is still going. Then I bought a Cub in 2012 and the engine came apart in 3 years. Now, I own a 2015 JD X350 and love it.

I prefer alpacas to goats in this situation. Plus, every time I sit my dog on them to go for a ride, I make money on YouTube.
