| Difficult to fire Fulmer Well, I think alot of people here on this board, including myself might have missed something in all the "get rid of fulmer" comments..........
Obviously, we're all pretty upset (to put it mildly) watching our team underacheive week in and week out, and slowly see our once all-mighty program sink into the depths of utter despair........
What if the team has a BAD record, as many of us predict, but the amazing recruiter Fulmer is able to pull off yet another TOP-5 recruiting class, loading the team up for YEARS to come...........
It may be very difficult to cut Fulmer loose under those cirumstances..........With a big contract in place, and another TOP-5 recruiting class on the way, my guess is that some offensive assistants will be sent packing, including Clawson, and Fulmer gets to stay..........
what do u guys think??? |

| Fulmer will not sign a top 5 class. Its looking more like a 10-15 ranked class with a possibility of slipping into the top 10 with some BIG gets.

I think it would be possible to be ranked top 5, if they sign alot of guys, upwards of 30, like they did 2 years ago.....when they signed 32 |

| It won't happen. We won't be taking 30 plus either.

doens't matter, ranked #4, ranked #8, all the same.........but the point is that Fulmer's going to sign a great class, with a huge contract to back him up, I think Clawson and one or 2 other assistants will be the fall guy...........and Fulmer once again get off the hook.. |

| Good point. Very good point. But idk if he'll get a top-5 class. It all depends on the boosters if they want Fulmer here or not.

I was really trying to ask you guys a question, and make a point.......the specifics aren't that important in a way........if Fulmer gets a top class, then I think he'll be able to pass the buck..........I mean, does anyone really think that Clawson is a great coordinator???
That's an easy out, and Fulmer gets to keep getting the mega-bucks........... |

There's no doubt that Fulmer and his staff can bring talent to Knoxville. Our recruiting classes have been as good as almost anybody's; we send as many players to the NFL as almost anybody. The problem is that our coaches don't seem to be able to do much with them in between. |

| I don't think that will have a major impact on the situation. At least I hope not.

well, they do "load us up for years to come"..........the only problem is exactly what you just said, they don't know what to do with them........I couldn't agree more.......I guess what we could hope then, is taht Fulmer LoADS the team up, and gets FIRED, haha.....and a Bruce Pearl type of coach comes in, and DOMINATES, much the way Fulmer stole all of Majors players, after he loaded it up, and got canned........ |

Bruce Pearl saved TN basketball from the brink of oblivion..........we could use a positive coach who does MORE with LESS, instead of the reverse........I'm just thinking that Fulmer will be able to blame the assistants, much cheaper to BLAME and FIRE them..........I would say the O-line coach, and Clawson get canned after the year.........if anybody get fired..... |
