When I say Bruce Pearl type coach, I don't mean a clone of him... I think of someone who just basically recharges the fanbase and brings in new excitement. The new coach (forgive the expression) doesn't have to sell the program like Bruce had to. He just has to be a good coach and win, everything else will fall into place.

I think any new coach would bring excitement to our fan base.

WE need someone to come in, with a positive attitude, and get the players to play really hard, not like lifeless zombies, who look like they're still at the orange and white game............

But that wasn't teh point ot this thread........it was a question............If Fulmer land a top recruiting class, with a massive contract in hand, what will happen if we go 5-7????????

I think Clawson gets the ax..........waht do u thinkk????

Yep. At first anyway, but he better do soemthing with a year or two. He doesn't have to win a NC or even the SEC, but there should be visible improvement.

I don't think our recruiting class will have anything to do with whether or not Fulmer keeps his job. It most likely won't be a top 10 class.

As far as the Pearl comment, you mentioned him and I disagreed. I'm not sure how I'm being negative.

As far as recruiting, I believe we will be top 5, or close to it..........as far as Pearl, you thought I was talking about getting a great promoter as coach.......thats' not necessary........I meant to get a coach that gets the MOST out of his players, like BRUCE PEARL..........like JOE PATERNO.........like NICK SABAN, etc.........coaches that are TOUGH..........

But once again, my QUESTION is the same..........who will be the fall guy if things don't go well?? my guess in CLAWSON.........what do u think?

We will not be close to a top 5 class. It isn't happening.

When it comes to getting the most out of your players, I think everybody wants a coach like that.

I'll give u an example of what i'm saying........Charlie Weiss last years wins like 2 or 3 games, but gets a top 2 or 3 recruting class, has a MASSIVE contract, and gets to stay..........understand my point?????

Didn't Weiss sign that contract the year before? Also, Weiss was a new coach there and all of Notre Dame was worshiping him at the time. The same can not be said for Fulmer. Furthermore, a top 5 class is not happening like I've already said.

wiess had a massive contract, top recruting class........otherwise, he would've been fired at LIGHT SPEED at ND..........Fulmer may get the same treatment, i'm thinking........

Weis is still at Notre Dame because of the insane contract extension they gave him halfway through his first year. It's got nothing to do with the recruiting classes.
