| Just a few random thoughts.... i didn't get to see the game yesterday and i haven't seen a highlight one. so, what i'm posting here is simply a reaction to what i've read and been told thus far.
1. I think it's safe to say that we aren't that good of a team this year. and at 2-3, with what could be anywhere from 2-4 more losses on the horizon, the end of this season could get uglier than any of us anticipated.
2. i found it very odd that Mike Hamilton chose to make it public that he and Fulmer had a conversation about the quarterback situation. I understand he didn't tell Fulmer what to do, in any way shape or form, but to make it public that he basically suggested to Fulmer to keep the fans in mind speaks volumes to me. It reeks of an AD that now sees the end of the road, and it almost validates many of the criticisms Fulmer has endured over the years about being too controlling over the offense, a la Randy Sanders. In any event, it's not that the conversation took place that bothers me, it's that MH made it public knowledge. If i were CPF, i'd be a little miffed.
3. You now have donors making comments to the media stating why there should be change or why they should keep Fulmer. when the debate leaves the message boards and makes it to the floors of the VASF big booster dinners, that's a problem.
4. Vandy beating Auburn. Ole Miss beating Florida. BYU and everyone else under the sun beating UCLA. none of this bodes well, and again, further validates claims made in the media and by fans that a)we aren't recruiting like we used to b) have lost a lot in evaluating talent c) we don't develop talent as well as we used to d) are as poorly coached as some will tell you e) all of the above, and none of it is good for Fulmer or this program.
5. the good news is Vandy, Bama and Georgia are out there looming. as long as there are games left to be played there is an opportunity to regain some semblance of a season.
In the end, i think this gets uglier. I think it only a matter of time, and another bad loss, before they start to lose some of the players.
i want change at UT, i think Fulmer's time has come and gone, but i hope no one ever wanted it to end like it's probably going to end. thinking back over the entire career at UT for Fulmer and seeing it end like this really is sad. Others will say it's fitting considering how he got to the HC position, either way, we've seen the highest of highs and lowest of lows under his tenure.
to the end of an era.....

| Judging from our performance the past two games it wouldn't surprise me if Wyoming were our only other win. Ok, maybe we win MSU or USC, but that just may be it. |

| To your point 4, one could also read it that UT gets everyone's best shot and the next week is a let down for them. Every team that beat us went out and lost the next week. |

to the end of an era..... | Sounds like 05 all over again. There is just a lot more vocalization happening at this point than there was then. Those who gave Fulmer a free pass then, aren't as charitable now.

If we can improve under Stephens may be we can steal a few games the rest of the year and finish strong. Even if we do I hope to see a change. |

We didn't get anywhere near AU's best shot. They gave it to LSU the week before.
We didn't get UF's best shot. They got out big, quick, and merely coasted. |
