I wanted to get opinions of those that have seen Crompton in some of the scrimmages including the O&W game compared to the UCLA game.
I know he did not look this bad in the scrimmages. I know he threw interceptions in the scrimmages but his numbers were pretty good. Last night, they were not.
Is it the fact he faced pressure all night long and had not done so in the scrimmages? Is UCLA's front 4 just that much better than what he faced in scrimmages? Was he just trying too hard in the game and trying not to throw interceptions? Was it just a poor game plan compared to the scrimmages? Was he told to take a 4 step drop and stay in the pocket during the UCLA game and was allowed to roll out and scramble more in the scrimmages?
I was really surprised of how Crompton performed last night. I realize he was under a lot of pressure because our OL underperformed, but even when the pressure wasn't terrible he threw balls high and in the dirt.
Opinions?
