is any one else concerned that jonathon crompton may decide to go pro if he has a very good season. He already has an nfl caliber arm and definately has the size that pro scouts are looking for. If he throws somewhere around 3 thousand yards with a good completion percentage and a good touchdown/interception ratio, he definately would be on the radar. now i do not think that this is gonna be the case, but every year there are players who kinda come out of nowhere and display enough to make the jump. IF he does go pro, is nunez our starter next year??

can we let the guy play at least 1 season before deciding if he's NFL material?

Who knows....let's play this season then talk about this stuff. Nunes is good, but Coleman and Stephens have a huge advantage of being around longer. I don't see how Crompton could get looked at by many NFL teams with just one year under his belt....not as a QB.

I don't care how good his measurables are. He needs more than one season under his belt. Hate to drop the H-word, but unless he contends for a Heisman this season, there's no way he's going to be taken that seriously as an NFL prospect; yet.

Nuñez isn't even on campus yet... you've made two huge assumptions in one post. Crompton going pro and Nuñez signing with the Vols.

Well, for him to do that in any intelligent way, we would have to win the NC. So I am all for it.

i agree with you 100%. But you have to be prepared for situations like this. Tennesse football is more than this season and u have to be able to have a contigency plan. IF he puts up the numbers, the nfl Will come calling.

12 plus games is more than enough to showcase your skills. are you guys forgetting that we play in the sec. aka the minor league of the nfl. And has anybody seen the quarterback play in the league. its the worst its been in a long time. im gonna tell you this. size, arm, smarts, mobility, and production against some of the best defenses in the country is more than enough to seriously test the waters. I am not saying he will go pro, but i think u are making a mistake if you have him here for the next two years

this thread will make sense when he actually shows any of that. I don't believe the NFL drafts directly out of fall practice

What does this mean? How are we making a mistake for keeping him here for two years ... or for even thinking that he will be here for two years when you yourself aren't saying that he will go pro?

i dont think he will go pro. BUT i believe he will have the opportunity and it is hard to turn down big money for anybody. I hope that we have crompton for the next two years but nobody thought meachem was gonna leave early either. Plus he has been here for 4 years now and is probably on pace to graduate this year. All i am saying is this a real viable option and to just assume he will be here next year means your making a mistake

OK...so you don't think that he will go pro, but you think that I am making a mistake when I think he will be here for two more years.......ummm...OK.
