| Well, I'm not going to call anyone out on the homer thing, but you're probably right about Stevens. That doesn't mean that Coleman won't be making up ground. I expect BJ will be one of the better QBs to wear orange before he graduates. Quote:

Jones has thrown one pass in a game, and that was in the Orange and White game. Hard to say he is above the rest of the depth chart with one pass. It was a good pass, but still. It will be stephens or coleman backing up crompton, but hopefully we won't have to worry about it. |

| wow. Did no one pay attention to Coleman at the O&W game or hear about how bad his spring practice went in general?
His footwork is essentially a disaster and Fulmer and Clawson have both mentioned that he's having a hard time learning the playbook. It would be shocking for him to be the #2 guy come fall. It would take a miracle for him to play well if he had to step into the first string role. |

| If Crompton got hurt early in the year, we wouldn't make a Bowl Game. Seriously, he is the one guy we can't afford to have injured. The talent level drops way off after Crompton...just my opinion. |

Crompton just has the maturity level over the youngsters. The talent level definitely drops off. From spring practice it was blatantly evident that neither Stephens nor Coleman are anywhere near read to lead a team that could make noise in the SEC East. It will be a very bad day for Tennessee if Crompton does go down.
The thing is, there are very few universities who could afford to lose their starting QB and not lose a lot as far as productivity. |

| Stephens looked like an interception machine in the Orange and White Game. I'm just not sure if he can manage an offense at this level.
If I was an opposing Defensive Coordinator, I would put ten in the box (not just nine) if Crompton got injured and shutdown the running game completely. We would be in serious trouble without Crompton.
All the more reason as to why we need another highly ranked QB in this class. |

It doesn't really take talent to lead a team, just maturity and poise. Crompton just has a better understanding of the offense. I would say is he more talented than both but the talent drop off isn't as significant as some are making it. |

I guess Crompton proved his talent level by learning the offense faster. I was at the game and yes Crompton did better than both, but that doesn't prove how talented each guy is. All it proves is that Crompton picked up the offense faster. Wait until they all know the offense on the same level and we will see how talented they all actually are. The talent dropoff will not be as significant as people are making it. |
