VIA, I agree with you about Creer. I think this is his breakout year. I look for Creer to be a star.

So you're saying he's going to average 33 ypc?

I hope you're right

They are from the same highschool if I'm not mistaken....I'm pretty sure one convinced the other to come here...I'm thinking it was Crews that helped recruit Vinson

Well, if that's the case... Here's to hoping that Berry slaps some sense into that kid, because he has all the tools to be a top-flight CB in the NFL if his mind is there.

It never ceases to amaze me how some athletes with all the potential in the world(Berry) chose to work their butts off, completely dedicating themselves to taking full advantage of their God given talent so that they can eventually cash it in (i.e. NFL contract) while others with the same kind of potential(Vinson) chose to put themselves in situations where they could very easily end up blowing their shot at millions (ala LaMarcus Coker)....

Granted...it's only speculation at this point...but I'm not just talking about Vinson...we've seen it more times than I care to try to count....

It makes no sense to me at all...I could even understand(that doesn't mean I would accept) it if Vinson wasn't so good....if he MAYBE had the chance to eventually make an NFL roster someday....

But we're talking about a guy who is talented enough to be a first day pick and if the rumor mill is correct then he is putting himself in a position that could lead to him blowing it....

I guess my question is....for what? What could possibly be so inticing to risk millions?

I have no idea

That's what makes Berry so rare is he has the "whole package". Brains, physical ability and a work ethic to keep both in check. He's the "trifecta".

I do agree with you Blamie.

1. Vols go 3-1 against Fla, Aub, UGA and Bama.

2. Crompton becomes the most beloved QB since Tee Martin and thus the 2008 team will draw comparisons to the 98 team. It should actually, considering the schedules are nearly identical w/ Auburn on the road, Miss st. instead of Arkansas. New starting QB who is a Jr. Hopefully w/ the same results

3. Tennessee will get into the SECCG and face...
Wait for it...

ALABAMA.
IMO The SEC West playing field was leveled when Perrilloux was booted. I think all those teams beat each other up and Bama comes out alive. My dream SECCG. This game will be the highest rated SECCG so far.

4. Depending on how other teams across the country do, we end up in the Sugar or maybe Miami (very big maybe). Facing BYU in the Sugar or Oklahoma in the MNC.

5. CPF considers retirement, decides to come back.

I know I should I retitle my post Bold Hopes for the 2008 season, but it is definitely possible.

Yes!!!! I forgot!!! I could win the lottery, Saben may get hit by lightning, Ryan Perrilloux could win the Heisman at Jacksonville State, Spurrior could win the Masters since he is a member at Augusta National. My mistake.....I should think before I speak!!

I wouldn't discount the possiblity in the least of being able to pull out a win against UF or UGA, Auburn and Bama. But hey, I'm probably just sippin' on some Orange Kool-Aid and adjusting my Fulmer/Crompton shrine while wearing Orange Sunglasses.

You are probably right in most cases. I think the Crompton statement I made could be the most realistic. I mean Clausen and Ainge weren't exactly fan favorites. I just figure if he starts out well and w/ his style of play, he will become very likeable to the majority of UT faithful.

3-1 is very capable. Even if we go 2-2 in that span there is still that possibility of running the table and receiving an at large BCS bid. I guess I am very high on this team bc overall we are the most athletic we've been in a long time, especially in the secondary and at wideout. I just like our chances. I think we match up well, especially w/ Georgia.
