I've never seen anything out of Maze that indicates he can play with any effectiveness at the high major level. Smith has been the point guard on two teams the reached the Sweet Sixteen. Maze was a washout on a bad team.

A "washout" that was never 100% after suffering a broken foot earlier in the year. From all accounts, he's made significant strides since his time in Norman. Getting away from Jeff Capel was the best thing that could have ever happened for Bobby.

haha...ok. Well, I'm not exactly a novice, and I gotta tell you, I in no way agree with your evaluation. Neither does the UT coaching staff, the Cincy staff, or the UK staff.

All of them think he's absolutely good enough to come in and help right away.

Academically, well, that's a different story.

That's the root of my concern with Bobby Maze. I was informed that was the primary reason for Gary Williams rescinding Bobby's verbal commitment last month.

It's really sad that they couldn't get it together. We could really have used Crews...however, I am glad that Pearl is doing what he is supposed to be doing!

So, according to Duke, he hasn't had "any negative incidents" since being suspended for a month before the start of the season when small amounts of marijuana were found in his on-campus apartment.

And, to take it one step further, he says that he's in solid academic standing.

Just to recap:

-He hasn't had any negative incidents since last fall.
-His academics are just fine.

Yep, this dismissal makes perfect sense. I don't doubt Crews' account one bit.

There wasn't anything current that would've been a reason for a dismissal. It was just a lot of little things from the past that piled up."

It must have been A LOT of little stuff. Why would Pearl just decide it was in everyones best interest to let Duke go if it was just over some little petty stuff? That doesn't make much sense to me.

If there was nothing recent that caused this I don't understand why he would be leaving.
