I keep hearing a lot of questions about certain things that I thought everyone knew, so I'm going to post them here.

1. Austin Rogers has been out of spring practice because of a minor injury, thus he didn't play today. This was announced 2 weeks ago.

2. Kenny O'Neal has not been practicing this spring due to grades/class work. He will not be a factor in his last season - stop hoping.

3. Jon Crompton is having precautionary elbow surgery. It's nothing serious. He'll be out 3-4 weeks, but won't miss any throwing time with receivers, because it coincides with mini-term.

4. BJ Coleman and Nick Stephens are not pushing for the starting job.

5. Lucas Taylor is out with a shoulder injury. Nothing serious.

6. Chris Donald is not pushing for a lot of playing time. He's #3 at MLB behind the starter Ellix Wilson and backup Nick Reveiz.

Hope that clears some things up.

very good to hear.

However, that leads to the obvious question:

What is his scheduled rehab time?

It was something like 3 months or four? I can't remember off the top of my head.

Slade said he was ahead of schedule after the 3rd scrimmage though.

also with the talent he has in the secondary and the turnaround the secondary went through last season, i'm hoping some of the heat will go off Slade. I don't think he's half as bad as most on here try to claim.

He has been really animated in practices this spring. He seems to really like his job more than in years past.

if I had that kind of talent, I'd be excited too. no more of this crap of put one really good guy at safety and hope he covers for everyone else. also we're no longer taking what should be dbs and trying to make them receivers.

Are you serious? Anyone with half a brain could look good coaching Berry and Morley. The guy apparently doesn't know how to teach technique. With all of the talent we've had back there over the years, our guys have had some of the worst technique I've ever seen. I still think that he tells his players to let their man get past them and then run as fast as you can to catch them while waving your hands in the air and screaming like a wild banshee. Slade should have been gone years ago and must know something scandlous on Fulmer or he would have already been canned. One thing is for sure, if our secondary is the strength of our defense this year, it won't be because of Larry Slade.

i'm not even going to bother pointing out all the gobbledygook in this post.

There are some things that are disconcerting about Slade. We've had a lot of seniors starting in the secondary that just weren't good. That shouldn't happen. Hefney got worse from junior to senior. Jabari Greer probably should have been a lot better college player than he was. Some of the best players we've had lately have been straight out of JUCO (Gibril Wilson and Julian Battle). I understand there have been some personnel issues, but it's just been a long time since we've had a good secondary.

The secondary hasn't been great, so he hasn't done a great job. He might have not really have ever had a chance (injuries, no pass rush, etc.), but that's just the way it is, in my opinion.

He may have been late, but he was at Fan Day. I got his autograph.

reeallly.. i sat there and waited for 15 minutes.. got creer's though so its cool...

i got everyone autograph but berry's.. i walked up to him (took 30 minutes... ) and some guy literally pushed me out of the way and shoved 20 things in his face... he looked at me and said sorry and was going to sign it but my dad called and he was next in line to meet fulmer... bummer..

i see where you are coming from, but I think the overwhelming majority of it comes from personnel issues.

Love the double standard that Slade had nothing to do with Berry being an instant impact and being able to play both as a corner and a safety. Or that he had no influence in Morley's decision to get his life straightened out. Or that he had nothing to do with how good Vinson was by the end of the season. not saying that's you kpt, just a generalization of most on board.
