Some SEC 2008 Predictions

anyone want to give it a shot? this is from a guy on another board and I thought the last paragraph was worth posting here......

SEC PREDICTIONS FOR 2008

"I am foreseeing some really interesting football as the Vols roll into the BCS. I have the utmost confidence in these predictions and they need to be shared.

Anybody that misses the Orange & White game is going to be sick that they missed will be unveiled.

East

Tennessee
Florida
SC

Georgia

Vandy

KY

West
LSU
Alabama
Auburn
Miss State
Miss.
Arkansas

The East will be the loaded group - Drayton has Urban's playbook - Vols do a number on the Gators in Knoxville. Vols with Clawson are an offensive machine. Orange lose in Athens but Georgia loses 3 other SEC games. Vols sweep at home. The west is a real mess with the winner going 9-3. Vols have to be wary of LSU again but win the rematch in Atlanta 31 - 23. Colquitt has a tough job getting his job back after his suspension. Both Foster and Hardesty run at will behind a monstrous 2 -deep offensive line. Chavis and Clawson are nominated for national assistant coaches of the year. Georgia has a stinko year after starting the year ranked number 2. South Carolina finally clicks.

Mr. Heisman loses his edge and Urban starts switching qbs to the team's detriment. Tuberville threatens to take another coaching job then withdraws his name when he does not make the short list. Johnny Majors and Fulmer settle the old grudge and produce a "Hell Freezes Over" Vols football history dvd that is the most moving sports film since Brian's Song."

I don't see anybody running the table..IMO UGA is the most stacked team in the SEC east this year...They could be scary...UF will contend but lose thier usual allotment of 3-4 games AGAIN...I still say that UF national title run was a fluke but thats just me...They won...I'm over it lol...I just don't see them doing it again

EAST

1. Florida - Excellent QB and just overwhelming talent that has matured since last year.
2. UGA – will run the ball down people’s throats and Fat Stafford arrives. Will have a freshman WR become a superstar.
3. Tennessee – strong O-line doesn’t translate into dominant running game. Enough talent for 3rd in the East.
4. South Carolina – maybe SOS’s last year. Can’t stop the run and cant play with discipline. Smelly wont be the answer.
5. Kentucky – the 15 minutes are up.
6. Vanderbilt – will give Tennessee fits, but in the end they don’t have the depth. I would love to see what Johnson could do with Tennessee’s talent.

WEST

1. LSU – enough talent to overcome the Mad Hatter. Sort of like our teams in the 90’s.
2. Bama – Saban’s breakout year.
2. Ole Miss- Nutt gets the Rebs to a bowl with Coach O’s talent. Nutt’s a better coach than people give him credit for and you’ll see it this year. He may not be the best in the heat of the moment, but he max’s out his players abilities.
3. Auburn – new system which will take time, but same TT. Say what you will about him, but the man can coach.
4. Miss State – Sly deserves all the credit in the world, have you ever been to Starkville? Will continue the upswing, but that means 7-5.
5. Arkansas – BP will build a team there, but you wont see the results for a couple of years.

There's no way an SEC east team will run the table this year.

As for Tebow, he won't have as dominant a season as last year but I still like him for SEC POY. And I think UGA will turn out to be a bust this year.

I dont predict Bama to win the NC for about 2-3 more years. SECC 1-2.

Bama wont win the SEC until Miles quits stockpiling talent, I look for Saban to implode before that.

Saban practilly beat him this year with half the talent !!!

Saban just got a big recruiting class. He will win the SEC in no later than 2 years.

If by practically beat, you mean lost, then you are correct.

That same Saban lost to ULM with double the talent.

I haven't quite done all of my stat work yet, but one thing I can believe in is that Florida will win the East, and I'm pretty confident in that already.
