Well, I hope he starts learning the life lessons faster than James Banks did. Good luck young man.

What gets me,did he think he could keep getting away with smoking the weed and everything would be alright?I wish him the best of luck but I wish he could have made the fresh start at Tennessee.

He put his personal habits before his team and let them down atleast 4 times. That's why I say good riddance.

In the grand scheme of misadventures in which UT players have participated, this is extremely minor. I woudn't call this a disgrace at all. I'd say a 300 pound man sucker punching a completely unprepared nonathlete is a much bigger disgrace than some guy smoking weed.

Gosh. I'd say Lamarcus Coker is the only guy that's ever gotten high while in college.

If he paid attention to James Banks' career that's probably exactly what he thought. Coker probably got the boot thinking he had three or four more chances remaining.

It seems like when these guys do it once or twice its very hard for them to keep it clean from there on out. Probably peer pressure or maybe he just likes to smoke weed.

You say this as if I disagree. Nope.. I think they are all disgraces and wish they would all go away. The argument is that they are just kids. Well, they are all adults. If I smoke weed on the job I'll get fired. If I hit my girlfriend/wife, I'll get fired. I wouldn't get 3-4 chances. Should be the same throughout the NCAA.

I guarantee several people you consider good people smoked pot in college. That does not make them a disgrace.

You are right. However, they potentially were not going to be the starting tailback in front of over 100k people and possibly have a promising career in the NFL. Would you have given him another chance? Were you not embarassed for him after his 4th dirty screen? Do you think it was healthy for the team?

I wouldn't have given another chance. He's gone now. He played for UT for a season and a half. He'll barely be remembered in a few years. That's hardly a disgrace. Maybe he didn't really want to play in front of massive crowds or play in the NFL. I get the impression that all that attention unnerved him. If the team is so fragile that they can't handle the third string running back failing a drug test...
