Way cool! Here's the original from Youtube- there is some information there about the recruit class, etc., but no explanation as to how this song was chosen. They should play this on the jumbotron!

I'm not sure, but that might be Keith Arneson on the banjo. He is the banjo player for the US Navy's "Country Current" bluegrass group. One hell of a player.

His name is Wayne French, according to whoever posted it on Youtube.

Ugh, that brings back some bad memories. I graduated from "Great Mistakes" in Sept '93. I completly missed the first month of the '93 season, I was so depressed. The Navy I have to say was the worse 2 years of my life.
