I know Lady Vols material generally garners about as much interest as hot chocolate at the beach, but...
Geno's crying again.... Quote:
Auriemma said he blames Summitt for ending the series, which matched the nation's most storied women's basketball programs.
"I understand that she can't say publicly why she made her decision because if she did she would be put in the position of needing to back it up," Auriemma said in a story published Monday on The Hartford Courant's Web site.
"There are a lot of unanswered questions out there," Auriemma said. "But my feeling all along has been that we had a signed contract to play and she didn't want to for her own reasons."
Summitt did not immediately return a call for comment.

| Pat Summitt made this guy by giving his team the time of day in the first place. He is just jealous that she is the face of women's basketball and he is the arrogant coach from UConn. He is like 50 cent going after Kanye West, just trying to draw interest in his sport I guess. | |

| This may be totally off base, but here's my thought. A couple of years ago when they named the tournament teams they put these two teams in the bracket so that they'd play each other before the championship. This really ticked Pat off as I recall from the press at the time. I think she pulled out of the series so that the season wouldn't "peak" in terms of competitveness early in the year so that those who set up the brackets wouldn't be tempted to seed them to play against each other too early like they did that year.
Like I said... may be totally off base. | |
