Freshmen

I like the fact that we are finally getting some of our freshmen on the field. I was glad to see Vinson get an interception, I think this will help build some confidence for him. Does anyone know if Gerald Jones will be ready to play at Georgia? Is he practicing at all? I would love to see this kid get on the field soon. What is everyone else's thoughts on the new secondary?

What? He practiced with the 1st teamers since he came on campus. Had his hammy not gotten hurt, I promise you he'd be a key component in the passing game.

Yeah, he picked up the O faster than JUCO's and Prep stars. He will be a good one.

He's just hurt. IF and that is a big if he plays this season it will be after UGA, according to everything I've heard. Unless something positive happens with his hammy, he will get redshirted.

Yeah, I knew he was probably redshirting. I was just saying he will do great things before he is done here.

I didn't mean that towards you. I was agreeing and kind of went on a rant.

It's cool. I can't wait to see him on the field next year though. He's already missed 4 games and won't play until probably Alabama anyways, he might as well go ahead and redshirt.

I say play him if he can come back in the next 3 games. Redshirt seniors that are stars are becoming obsolete with players leaving early. Let him get experience so he can be ready to start next year. Plus, he will add a new dimension to the offense now.

i dont think Jones should redshirt because we need him this season, if we had mulitiple receivers making plays then i could see y he would redshirt but right now we only have one consistent receiver

we will see, according to radio reports, jones is having problems advancing in the no huddle offense. i know he has been injured, it's the biggest lingering story we have in Volville. i just don't see him climbing up the depth this season starting so late and picking up the offense....practicing with the first team, doesn't make him a gametime success though. i'm open-minded about him, it is just what i have heard. if there is anyone i would like to see on the grass is jones and moore....more, it's me! i'm looking forward to be proved wrong.

Poetry courtesy of the Verve Pipe:

"For the life of me I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise and
We'd never compromise
For the life of me I cannot believe
We'd ever die for these sins
We were merely freshmen"
