| Short-term, long-term First, as I remarked elsewhere, I'm not going to beat around the bush. No point in slapping you on the back and saying good game because let's be honest, it wasn't. And no I told you so's, either. Let's just get down to brass tacks.
Tennessee as a program is rudderless right now. Berry was a high spot and you need about 12 more of him. Ainge showed flashes of great command, but he could never really sustain anything. Function of his finger injury, good defense, or whatever, it doesn't matter. Just could not move the ball in those little chunks and keep it going.
I think you need to separate the short-term from the long. Long-term, you are just buried coaching-wise and talent-wise. You need to make a change if you want to compete in the SEC. Pure and simple. That is going to get debated by a lot of folks, you know what I think, let's move on.
Short-term, you don't have a consistent receiver and, IMO, you abandoned the running game too early. I saw very few efforts at any draw plays (the one backfired huge with the fumble). You couldn't seem to make big plays back to back. Believe it or not, if I were coach, I'd do what a lot of you would criticize, and that is to run the ball forever from here on out for 2007.
Defensively, you knew it would be a struggle and it was. I am confident that your defense got gassed and of course that is a function of not keeping the ball on offense. If the offense runs the ball effectively and eats up clock, the defense rests.
I'm still a huge fan of the board and, although I am of course very excited about my team, I take no pleasure in watching you guys be so unhappy. I've been there as a Gator and, believe me, when you pull the trigger and the change gets made, there will be a lot to look forward to. |

| I agree. Talent wise we are no where near top SEC teams. Looking forward to your game with LSU. Winner will play for national championship. |

Its not about consoling, its about getting serious about making changes. Again, having been there before with the whole Zook situation, I can absolutely promise you that it is only going to get worse until you pull that thorn from your collective paw. |

Dude I was only kidding. I have always had nothing but respect for you.
You are right. THe time for change is now. This is going to continue to get worse before it gets better but I think Fulmer will do the right thing and retire at the end of this year. He needs to leave with class why he still can. |

I've gotten so much crap from Florida fans, even while I was in Knoxville. As for the analysis, I think most Vol fans would agree with you. |
