Our Defensive Gameplan

Now i know our gameplan won't change much, although I'd like to see chavis throw somethin off the wall like the 01' game, but I thought it was interesting when they asked Ray Lewis during the WVU game how he would defend WVU and their style attack. He said you have to attack them and try to disrupt what they are trying to do. You can't sit back and let them read what you are doing.

Now i know florida has a much better passing game, but it sounded like a good philosophy that would work against florida as well. As much misdirection as they use, instead of tryin to decide where the ball is goin, attack them before. This opens up big plays, but I'd like to see us go after them.

Thoughts...

We must attack and get pressure early. If we can score first and take more defensive chances in man coverage it would be very nice.

I agree, we must bring pressure. I want pressure and penetration. I better stop here this is starting to sound like a X rated novel.

It is hard to score if you never round third base.

You just have to look for the signs. They are given right between the catcher's legs. I made that one up myself.

Are you suggesting we come hard around the end to get it?

Well I'll put it this way, Tebow might let out a squeal if he gets it from behind, especially if he gets it when he isn't quite anticipating it.

you can bet your mortgage on this.....florida will blitz like h*** at ainge.....and bring the kitchen sink probably on every down. the whole freakn' gator world has been saying down here from coaching to journalists. THEY WILL BLITZ....WHY DON'T WE?

On the Urban Myer Show
"it will take pressure off the young defense if we pressure ainge to throw quickly or not throw at all....if we give ainge time, he will pick us apart."

To be honest, I think that would be a bad idea for UF.

Given Ainge's reputation in the league, expect this for the duration of the SEC schedule. Florida is going to put much more pressure on him than he has seen this year.

If you blitz like h*** and the running back gets past with the ball it is clear to the endzone.

Also, the blitz leaves their young corners man-to-man. One slip and Ainge will exploit it like he found Austin last week.

Hopefully we'll do the same to Tebow instead of just trying to get in with the front 4 like always.
